PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) volleyball team (7-4, 2-0 CACC) claimed a 3-1 victory at conference opponent USciences (3-8, 1-1 CACC) on Tuesday night.
The teams went back and forth early in the opening set. The score was tied at 10 before Jefferson went on a 9-2 run to take the lead. The Devils responded with six straight points to get within one. However, the Rams held USciences off and closed out the set, 25-21.
In the second, the score was tied at four when the Devils tallied six points in a row for the lead. The Rams fought back and tied the score at 14. After several points of even play, the score was even at 21 when Jefferson strung together four consecutive points for another 25-21 victory.
The Rams had a 7-5 advantage in the third but USciences rallied for a 10-1 stretch and a 15-8 lead. Jefferson got within five (19-14) but the Devils finished the set with a 6-0 run for a 25-14 triumph.
USciences started the fourth frame with three straight points but the Rams followed with eight of the next 10 points for an 8-5 advantage. The Devils evened the score at nine before Jefferson took over with an 8-3 stretch. USciences cut the deficit to one (19-18) but the Rams pulled away to take the match by a 25-21 score.

- Junior Lauren Kloos tallied a team-high 16 kills.
- Senior Alexis Leddy compiled 23 digs.
- Junior Cassandra Hickman contributed with 11 kills.
- It is the fourth straight year that Jefferson has started 2-0 in conference play.
- The Rams have won their last nine meetings with USciences.
Jefferson hosts Holy Family on Thursday, September 26 at 7 p.m. All fans attending are encouraged to wear white as the team holds a "white-out" to rally for a win against the Tigers.
