PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's volleyball team has publicized its schedule for the 2019 campaign. The Rams will play 28 matches with 10 taking place at the Gallagher Center. The team will compete in 11 away games and have seven contests on a neutral court.
Jefferson faces 11 opponents that appeared in a conference tournament, seven of which reached at least the semifinal round. Four of those squads went on to play in the NCAA Tournament. American International reached the national quarterfinals while Holy Family was the East Region runner-up.
"I'm looking forward to facing some tough non-conference opponents at the start of the season," said second-year head coach Latifa Raheem. "These matches will really help prepare us for conference play."
The Rams commence the season at Millersville on September 10. The team will be tested early as just one of its first 11 matches are in East Falls. Jefferson plays its home and conference opener against Goldey-Beacom on September 18. The Rams end the regular season with back-to-back home games on November 13 and 16.
The top four teams from the North and South Divisions qualify for the CACC Tournament. Quarterfinal games are scheduled for November 19 at campus sites. The semifinals and final will be played at Holy Family University on November 23 and 24.
In 2018, Jefferson finished 23-10 and placed third in the South Division with a 16-3 record. The Rams suffered a 3-1 loss at Caldwell in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament.
