PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) volleyball team is set for two conference matchups this week. On Wednesday, Sept. 27 the Rams will faceoff against the USciences Devils at 7 p.m. at the Bobby Morgan Arena in Philadelphia. On Saturday, Sept. 30, the Rams will welcome the Caldwell Cougars at noon in the Gallagher Center in Philadelphia.

The Rams had a sweeping victory over the Dominican Chargers in Orangeburg, N.Y. on Saturday afternoon, with final match scores of 25-14, 25-13, and 25-18. The win came as the Rams sixth victory in a row making them 8-5 overall, and 3-0 in conference.

Junior Courtney Wensel entered Saturday's match needing just 14 kills and seven digs to reach the 1000-plateau mark. In the final set on Saturday, she reached both clinching the match with her 1000th career kill, which she attained in just 76 career matches. Wensel was the sixth with 1000 kills and eighth with 1000 digs, third in the program's history to get both. Wensel's 14 kills and nine digs not only secured her 1000th mark but came as a match high.

The Rams look to enter their 4th conference match up against USciences. The Devils are 2-5 overall and 1-3 in the CACC.

After their match up against USciences, they will play Caldwell for their 5th conference match of the season. The Cougars are 9-2 overall, and 4-0 in the CACC.
