PHILADELPHIA – Graduate student Erin Tinneny of the Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer team was selected to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team.
To earn Academic All-Area honors, a student-athlete must be in at least her second year at her institution and carry a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20. The team is voted on by the athletic communications offices of 30 institutions in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
Tinneny, who is pursuing her MBA, led the conference in goals against average (0.66), save percentage (.841), shutouts (7) and wins (12). She had 53 saves on the season. Tinneny conceded a goal in just five of her 17 games in the net. The grad student was named the CACC Goalkeeper of the Year and to the All-CACC first team. Tinneny also received D2CCA All-Region second team accolades and was the CACC Tournament MVP.
The Rams captured their fourth CACC Championship and qualified for the NCAA Tournament.
