Women’s Soccer Falls at Shippensburg to Close Regular Season

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's soccer team (7-9-1) dropped its regular-season finale on the road to the Shippensburg Raiders (7-9-1) from David See Field in Shippensburg, Pa. by a final of 2-0.

The Raiders used goals in the 42nd and 77th minute to go up. Shippensburg's Casey Bell finished a cross for the first goal before Beth McGee scored on a rebounded save in the second half.

Jefferson mustered 12 shots including nine in the second half. Junior Dena Noiseux led the game with four shots and three shots on target. Senior Katie Neveil managed three shots while junior MaryKate Ulmer took two with one on goal. Senior Brooke Haden, freshman Gabrielle Mara and junior Erin Sullivan each had one.

Sophomore goalkeeper Danielle Samson (L, 4-1-0) took her first loss of the year in goal as she made seven saves across 90 minutes as she faced 16 total shots.

Jefferson Women's Soccer now turns its attention to the CACC Tournament. The No. 5-seeded Rams will play on the road in a quarterfinals matchup on Monday, Oct. 29 at No. 4-seeded Caldwell University at 2 p.m.
