Rowing Has Eight Named CRCA National Scholar-Athletes, Tying Program Mark

PHILADELPHIA – Eight members of the Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's rowing team were named National Scholar-Athletes by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA).

Senior Martina Saad, juniors Madison Carter, Delaney Lynam, Madison Okerson and Elizabeth Zolnierzak and sophomores Jenna-Lynne D'Agostino, Anne Demetroules and Jillian Paternoster earned the award. The eight honorees is tied for the most in program history (2016, 2018).

To receive National Scholar-Athlete honors, a student-athlete must be in at least her second year of eligibility, rowed in her institution's NCAA eligible boats for a minimum of 75% of the current spring races and had a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA for her career (through the fall semester for the current competition year).

Saad garnered the award in all three years she was eligible. Lynam, Okerson and Zolnierzak are two-time honorees while Carter, D'Agostino, Demetroules and Paternoster were selected National Scholar-Athletes for the first time.
