PHILADELPHIA – Freshman Maxi Schacht of the Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's rowing team was selected to the All-America second team by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA).
Schacht is the first All-American for the Rams since Eliza Brooks and Amy Robinson in 2015. She is also the first freshman in program history to receive All-America honors. Schacht is the sixth individual at Jefferson to earn All-America distinction in women's rowing. Those six individuals have garnered a combined nine All-America awards.
Schacht spent the season in the #7 seat of the Varsity Eight. She helped Jefferson place fifth (6:42.130) in the event and fifth as a team at the NCAA Division II Championships. The Rams finished fourth (6:30.975) at the Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta and came in third (6:54.19) at the Kerr Cup. The boat won the Club Eight – DI/II event (7:11.30) at the Knecht Cup and took second (6:25.88) at the River Cup. Schacht helped Jefferson to a fifth place (7:25.83) at the Central Sprints. The Rams won the Petite Final (7:11.91) in the DI event at the Murphy Cup.
