Lynam Earns Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Women's Rowing Honors

PHILADELPHIA – Junior Delaney Lynam of the Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's rowing team was chosen to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team on Wednesday.

The Academic All-Area team was voted on by the Philadelphia metropolitan area's 30 sports information offices. In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area, an athlete must be in at least his or her second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or better.

Lynam sat in the #5 seat on the Rams' varsity eight this season and helped lead Jefferson to the NCAA Division II Championships. The eight won the petite final (6:42.130) and finished fifth overall, while the Rams also placed fifth as a team. The Jefferson eight was ranked first in the East Region after going undefeated against regional competition.

The Rams came in fourth place in the Grand Final at the Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta. The boat crossed second at the River Cup and third at the Kerr Cup. The Rams also took first in the petite final at the Murphy Cup.

A 2018 CRCA National Scholar-Athlete, Lynam is a six-time Dean's List student (every semester she has been enrolled), including five semesters with a 4.00. She is a health sciences major and has a 3.95 GPA.
