LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's basketball team (4-0) improved to 4-0 on the young season with a 70-64 Sunday road win at Lincoln (Pa.) in Lincoln University, Pa.
After getting outscored 16-10 in the opening quarter, the Rams came back in the second to score 18 while limiting Lincoln to just seven as Jefferson owned a 28-23 advantage at the break.
After a high-scoring third quarter where each team scored 25 points, the margin remained at five with just the fourth quarter remaining. The Rams hit only seven shots in the first half before knocking down 10 in the third quarter.
Jefferson eventually held on for the 70-64 win.
BY THE NUMBERS
-Senor Beverly Kum scored a game-high 19 points behind 6-of-11 shooting while grabbing six rebounds with a block and assist.
-Senior Jessica Kaminski followed her up with 18 points, six rebounds, five assists and one steal. Kaminski went 6-of-7 from the free-throw line where she is 22-of-23 in four games.
-Sophomore Caitlyn Cunningham recorded 16 points in the win with three three-pointers, four rebounds, four assists and three steals.
-Senior Erin Maher notched seven points with a game-high 10 rebounds with one assist and steal.
-Junior Alynna Williams had seven points, three assists, three steals and two rebounds.
AS A TEAM
-Jefferson shot 37.1% (23-of-62) from the floor, 35.7% (5-of-14) from three-point range and 63.3% (19-of-30) from the line.
Jefferson Women's Basketball now travels to Shippensburg for a Tuesday, Nov. 20 road contest at 6 p.m.
