Softball Suffers Two Losses at the Spring Games

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) softball team (4-4) dropped a pair of contests at the Spring Games on Sunday. The Rams fell to Bemidji State, 10-1 in six innings and lost 4-0 to Concord.

GAME ONE – L, 10-1 (6 inn.) vs. Bemidji State
The Beavers got on the board quickly in the first with a double. They added five in the third due to a two-run homer and a pair of errors. Meanwhile, Jefferson had a baserunner in each of the first five innings but were unable to push a run across. On defense, the Rams were hampered by four errors. Bemidji State increased the lead with four runs in the sixth. Jefferson got on the board in the bottom of the frame as senior Naomi Stas drove in junior Breck Urban with a base hit. However, the Rams could not add any more and succumbed to the eight-run rule. Stas picked up her 200th career strikeout in the pitching circle during the contest.
