Former All-American Rose Signs With Japan's Briobecca Urayasu

PHILADELPHIA – Former Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) men's soccer All-American Seiji Rose recently signed with Japanese club Briobecca Urayasu for the 2019 season.

Briobecca will compete in Division I of the Kanto Soccer League, a Japanese Regional League, for the upcoming campaign. The Japanese Regional Leagues are the fifth tier of the Japanese association football league system. Briobecca placed sixth in the division in 2018. It is the second year for the squad in the division after competing in the fourth-tier Japan Football League in 2017.

Rose spent 2018 with the Atlantic City Football Club of the National Premier Soccer League, a national amateur league at the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid.

A standout defender, Rose was named to the 2017 D2CCA All-America Second Team and the 2017 United Soccer Coaches All-America Third Team. Regionally, he was chosen to the 2017 D2CCA All-East Region First Team and the 2017 United Soccer Coaches All-East Region First Team. Rose was selected the 2017 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Year and was a member of the All-CACC First Team and 2017 CACC Championship All-Tournament Team. He earned the Chancellor's Award at the athletics' year-end banquet, awarded to the student-athlete who has demonstrated excellence in athletic and academic achievement during their career in the University's athletic program.
