Early Goal Helps Women's Soccer Earn Win Over Pace
PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer team (1-2-1) was able to capitalize on an early goal and hold the lead as the Rams earned a 1-0 victory over Pace University in Saturday afternoon non-conference competition.
WHAT HAPPENED
The Rams were able to get on the board early as
Alexa Callahan took the ball away from the Setter's, run to the goal and bank the shot from 15 yard out to the right of the net to put Jefferson up 1-0. Both teams would not be held down to just one score, as they each tried to take advantage of opportunities given in the match, but defense held strong for Pace and Jefferson. Pace had seven corners on the day, while Jefferson took 15 shots throughout the contest.
