CALDWELL, N.J. – The Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer team (5-3, 4-0 CACC) scored the lone goal of the contest to defeat host Caldwell (2-5-2, 1-2-1 CACC), 1-0, on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rams had a 7-2 advantage in shots in the first half and got on the board in the 26
th minute.
Anna Midock had the ball in the Jefferson end and booted it down the field. The service found its way to
Nikki Dedes, who caught the Cougars' goalkeeper out of position and sailed it over the goalie into the cage for a 1-0 lead. It was her team-leading seventh goal of the year.
While the Rams were unable to net an insurance goal in the second period, the Jefferson defense locked it down, not allowing a shot during regular play. The only opportunity Caldwell had was when the Cougars were awarded a penalty kick in the 82
nd minute but the shot was put wide of the goal.
