PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer team was dealt a 4-0 defeat by Saint Rose in the Rams' home opener on Sunday afternoon. Jefferson has a 0-1-1 record on the season.
GAMEPLAY
The Rams recorded the first shot of the contest only 19 seconds in but it missed to the left. The Golden Knights countered just minutes later, converting a header off of a corner kick in the fourth minute. Just two minutes later, Saint Rose made it a 2-0 game with a penalty kick goal. The Golden Knights continued to control possession for the rest of the half, outshooting Jefferson 12-1.
Saint Rose increased its advantage to three just over two minutes into the second half, capitalizing on a throw in the offensive end. The Golden Knights had an 8-3 edge in shots in the period and found the back of the net for the final time in the 83
rd minute. Saint Rose jumped on a rebound in front of the Jefferson goal.
