PHILADELPHIA - The Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer team scored two second-half goals to defeat third-seeded Nyack, 2-0, in the semifinals of the CACC Tournament on Thursday.

The second-seeded Rams (6-1) advance to the CACC Championship Game for the second straight year and will look to repeat when they head to the top seed Holy Family for the title game on Monday, April 12 at noon.

GAMEPLAY
Both teams played tight defense during the first half with a total of just four shots being taken in the opening 45 minutes, three by Jefferson. The Warriors' goalkeeper made two saves and
Danielle Samson turned away one shot for the Rams.

In the second period, Jefferson's attack started to wear down the Nyack defense. The Rams outshot the Warriors, 12-2, during the period and earned seven corner kicks. The effort produced results in the 69
th minute when
Laural Erick sprinted down the left side of the field and sent a pass into the middle of the box where
Devin Sullivan tapped it in for a 1-0 Jefferson lead.

The Rams threatened again in the 77
th minute and Nyack was called for a foul in the penalty area.
Casey Sheehan stepped up and converted the PK to make it 2-0. The Rams' defense conceded just one off-target shot the rest of the way.

NOTES
- It is the ninth CACC Championship Game appearance for Jefferson.
- The Rams are in the conference final in back-to-back years for the first time since 2015.
- Jefferson will take on Holy Family in the conference tournament for the fifth time (fourth time in the final) and it is the first meeting since 2011. The Tigers went 3-0-1 in the previous four meetings.
