Women's Soccer Wears Down Caldwell To Go To 4-0

PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer team received goals from four different players and defeated visiting Caldwell, 4-1, at Ravenhill Field on Saturday afternoon. The Rams improved to 4-0 with the win.

GAMEPLAY
Jefferson had the better of play in the first half, outshooting the Cougars, 6-2, and recording five corner kicks. However, it took until the 33rd minute for the Rams to break through, as Laural Erick followed through on a misplay by the goalkeeper and buried the ball into the open net. In the 44th minute, Casey Sheehan made the score 2-0 when she converted a penalty kick.

Caldwell showed improvement in the second period and cut the deficit to one in the 59th minute, finding daylight in the right corner of the goal. Jefferson continued to pressure the Cougar defense and Ava Albergo increased the lead to two again in 71st minute. Albergo fired a shot from the left side of the box over a leaping goalkeeper and into the right side of the cage. Albergo later set up Chloe Quinn in the box in the 85th minute for the final tally of the game. Danielle Samson stopped two shots in goal and upped her record to 2-0.
