PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer team received goals from four different players and defeated visiting Caldwell, 4-1, at Ravenhill Field on Saturday afternoon. The Rams improved to 4-0 with the win.
 
GAMEPLAY
Jefferson had the better of play in the first half, outshooting the Cougars, 6-2, and recording five corner kicks. However, it took until the 33^rd minute for the Rams to break through, as Laural Erick followed through on a misplay by the goalkeeper and buried the ball into the open net. In the 44^th minute, Casey Sheehan made the score 2-0 when she converted a penalty kick.
 
Caldwell showed improvement in the second period and cut the deficit to one in the 59^th minute, finding daylight in the right corner of the goal. Jefferson continued to pressure the Cougar defense and Ava Albergo increased the lead to two again in 71^st minute. Albergo fired a shot from the left side of the box over a leaping goalkeeper and into the right side of the cage. Albergo later set up Chloe Quinn in the box in the 85^th minute for the final tally of the game. Danielle Samson stopped two shots in goal and upped her record to 2-0.
