Keenan's Late Tally Propels Women's Soccer Past Stonehill

PHILADELPHIA - Quinn Keenan could not have picked a better time to record her first collegiate goal, scoring the game-winner with 4:08 remaining in regulation, as the Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer team (6-3-1) topped Stonehill, 2-1, on Wednesday.

GAMEPLAY
Each team notched four shots in the opening half but could not get on the board. It took the Rams just one shot in the second period to break through. Emma Kuciapinski found the ball at her feet just outside the 18 on the left side. She sent a cross into the scoring area where Laural Erick was all alone. Erick beat the goalkeeper to the left side for a 1-0 lead in the 53rd minute.

The Skyhawks managed six shots, with four of them on target, but Jefferson seemed to have all of the answers. However, with time winding down, Stonehill benefitted from a misplay inside the box and hit the back of the net to even the score with 7:33 to go.

Just three minutes after the Skyhawks tied it up, the Rams seized control once more. Ava Albergo streaked down the left side of the field and sent a cross towards the right post. Quinn Keenan won her battle with a Stonehill defender and was able to knock the ball into the goal to put her team ahead 2-1. The Skyhawks had two more opportunities in the final minutes, sending a shot just over the bar and having another stopped by goalkeeper Liv Riddel, one of a season-high nine saves for the rookie.
