Women's Lacrosse Falls To Georgian Court in CACC Championship Game

LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's lacrosse team (10-6) suffered a 20-7 loss to top-seeded Georgian Court (15-4) in the CACC Championship Game on Saturday. It was the third straight conference title for the Lions.

GAMEPLAY
Sophomore Camryn Sullivan put the Rams on the board first at the 25:49 mark. Freshman goalkeeper Kelsey Kaplowitz made some key saves early but GCU eventually countered with five consecutive goals for a 5-1 advantage. Juniors Erin Eckert (13:26) and Sarah von Lange (12:44) got Jefferson within two (5-3). The Lions netted four goals in a row for a 9-3 lead with 4:29 left. Sophomore Lexi Patania (1:44) and Sullivan (0:13) made it a four-goal game at halftime.

In the second half, each team had a goal and the score was 10-6 with 25:29 remaining. Georgian Court then began to dominate play and pulled away with a 10-0 run. Sullivan picked up her third goal of the day with 4:01 to go for the final tally.

Eckert, Sullivan and von Lange were selected to the All-Tournament Team.

LOOKING FORWARD
The Rams are expected to return 17 players to the 2020 edition, losing seniors Katie Gallivan, Laura Dunne and Chanel D'Angelo.
