Women's Soccer Picks Up 2-0 Win to Stay Unbeaten over Nyack

Nyack, NY- The Philadelphia University women's soccer team (1-0-2, 1-0 CACC) opened the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) season with a 2-0 shutout victory over the Nyack College Warriors on Saturday afternoon. 

PhilaU goals were scored by freshman midfielder Janine Cascio (King's Park, NY/ King's Park) and sophomore forward Trisha Sileo (Islip, NY/ Islip)- both in the second half. 

The Rams were tied at 0-0 going into the half.  Senior midfielder Natalie Vespe (Atco, NJ/ St. Joseph's) and junior forward Kristen McKale (Huntingdon Valley, PA/ Lower Moreland) both had assists in the win.

PhilaU sophomore keeper Kelli Kowalewski (Shamong, NJ/ Seneca) made two stops for the visitors while NC's Shannon McNeeley made 13 saves for the Warriors. 

PhilaU returns to the pitch at home on Sunday (9/12) vs. the University of Bridgeport at 1:00 p.m. in a non-conference match.  The match will be webcast live here
