Box Score

Garden City, NY-  The Philadelphia University Rams (8-3, 2-0 CACC) fell 61-47 to Adelphi University (7-4, 1-1 ECC) in a non-conference game on Tuesday evening.  Junior forward Marcus Lemon (Alexandria, VA/ T.C. Williams) led the Rams with 14 points and seven rebounds.

The Rams began the first half vying for the advantage, as senior guard Mike Dunn (Harrisburg, PA/ Central Dauphin) hit a jumper at 13:53 to take a slim 13-12 lead.  Dunn had eight points and four boards on the night.  That would be the last time PhilaU led for the contest, as the Panthers went on a 22-4 run over the remainder of the half to lead 34-17 at halftime.

AU held the Rams to just 27% shooting from field goal range in the first stanza, and PhilaU shot 36% for the night.

In the second half a layup by PhilaU junior forward Malcolm Ingram (Philadelphia, PA/ Solebury Prep) would cut the Panther lead to single digits at 38-29.  Ingram finished the night with 10 points and five boards.

At 6:08 PhilaU's Lemon nailed a three-pointer to cut the lead to eight, and junior guard Russell Frederick (Baltimore, MD/ Calvert Hall) hit a trey at 1:56 for the Rams-but it was too little, too late.  Frederick tallied 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the game.

The Rams will make their way down I-76 to face the University of the Sciences on Thursday, January 8th in a 8 p.m. doubleheader that features the PhilaU women at 6 p.m.
