Philadelphia, PA- The
Philadelphia University women's soccer team 3-6-3 (2-0-2 CACC)
knocked off Nyack College (3-5, 1-3 CACC) 4-0 on Saturday's
Homecoming match-up at Ravenhill Field.
Junior Jill Sokolski (Philadelphia, PA/Nazareth
Academy) got the game-winner at 16:50 in the first half to seal the
deal for the Lady Rams, as the team scored two goals in each
period.
Freshman Gabrielle Haden (Freehold, NJ/ Colts
Neck) picked up three points with a goal (her fourth of the season)
and an assist. Phila U. also got goals from freshman
Lisa Lungaro (Stony Point, NY/ North Rockland)-her
first of the season along with senior Stephanie
Filmyer (Harleysville, PA/ Souderton)-who knocked in her
third score of the year.
Senior goalie Sara Hall (Wilmington, DE/
Wilmington Charter) had five saves in goal, while freshman keeper
Rebecca Della Peruta (Haddon Heights, NJ/ Haddon
Heights) saw time in goal in the second half.
The Lady Rams return to action on Tuesday, October
7th at home vs. Chestnut Hill at 4:00 p.m.
